ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Men's Basketball team fell 81-70 at St. Cloud State University in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play Thursday night in St Cloud, Minn. Junior
John Sutherland recorded his second double-double of the season leading the Beavers (5-2, 1-1 NSIC) in both points (18) and rebounds (13).
The Huskies (4-3, 1-1 NSIC) started fast by scoring five points in the first 45 seconds and were able to build on that momentum to lead 20-6 with 12:35 left in the first half. The Beavers were then able to find their footing and able to go on multiple runs to cut the deficit down to four with six minutes left in the half. In the final five minutes SCSU pulled ahead and went into the half up 48-33. Starting the second half BSU held its own by climbing right back into the game. A Sutherland dunk with 15 minutes to play cut the SCSU lead to six. St. Cloud State respond with a five-point run only for Bemidji State to follow up with an eight-point run of its own. With one last run the Huskies were able to stay a head for the remainder of the game winning 81-70.
The Beavers continue to find success in the paint this season dropping 44 points in tonight's action. Besides Sutherland three other Beavers broke into double figures.

Jayce Lowman and
Brandon Christlieb (10) each scored in double-digits. Lowman converted from behind the arc scoring four of the Beavers' five made three pointers. BSU went 28-for-61 (45.9%) from the field, 5-for-18 (27.7%) from three and 9-for-17 (52.9%) from the free throw line.
Bemidji State out-rebounded St. Cloud State 37-32 and limited the Huskies to only two second-chance points. Behind Sutherland, Kone recorded seven rebounds on the night, a season high.
Brayden Williams rounded out the top three for BSU with five rebounds.
The Beavers return home to host University of Minnesota, Duluth Saturday, Dec., 3 at 3 p.m., in the BSU Gymnasium.
