Beavers fall on the road at MSU Moorhead

Bemidji State falls 42-68 in Moorhead, Minn.

MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Bemidji State University women's basketball team fell to Minnesota State University, Moorhead 68-42, Friday evening in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play in Moorhead, Minn. Trinity Yoder and Alyssa Hill combined for 20 points on the night.
 
The Dragons (5-3, 2-1 NSIC) got seven quick points against the Beavers (3-5, 0-4 NSIC) before BSU converted on its first basket. Bemidji State tied the game at seven a piece before MSU Moorhead pulled ahead and never looked back. The Beavers found the third quarter to be the most successful by scoring 18 points and going 8-for-11 (73.7%). Yoder scored nine of her 11 points in the that quarter. As a team BSU shot 18-for-55 (32.7%) from the field on the night.
 
Yoder led the Beavers with her 11 points and was the only student-athlete to break into double-digits on the night for BSU. Hill finished second on the team with nine points and Sam Pogatchnik rounded out the top three with eight. Bemidji State struggled from three going 3-for-20.
   
The Dragons out-rebounded the Beavers grabbing 50 rebounds to Bemidji State's 30. Yoder and Hill finished the night and tied for first for BSU with seven rebounds each. Hill was behind the duo with six. Pogatchnik came away with the lone block for the Beavers.
 
The Beavers continue their road trip tomorrow as they travel to Aberdeen, S.D., to take on Northern State University at 4 p.m.
