MADISON, Wisc. -- Bemidji State University women's hockey was defeated in game one of WCHA Quarterfinals versus No. 4 University of Wisconsin. The Beavers and Badgers will meet again tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m. when the Beavers will try to force the Badgers into a tie-breaking third game.

The Beavers marked the lone first-period goal from senior Graysen Myers. Assists from Makenna Deering and Reece Hunt put the Beavers up by one going into the first period. Just over midway through the second period, Wisconsin's Maddi Wheeler answered Myers' goal to tie the game.

Wisconsin's Brette Pettet found the final goal of the night off assists from Sophie Shirley and Maddi Wheeler, putting the Badgers up, 2-1, to end the game and take the first win of the WCHA Quarterfinal playoff series.

This best-of-three series concludes tomorrow afternoon from Lance Johnson Memorial Rink at La Bahn Arena in Madison, Wisconsin.
