WAYNE, Neb. – The Bemidji State University volleyball team did not have enough for No. 1 Wayne State College and fell to the Wildcats, 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-15) in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play Friday night. The Beavers (3-12, 2-5 NSIC) were led by junior Mallie Mertz with eight kills while the Beavers would tally 28 kills to the Wildcats' (17-0, 7-0 NSIC) 36 in the match.

On the attack
Meeghen Dahlager finished behind Mertz with five kills and
Ashley East and
Lauren Sitter both totaled four. Assisting the Beavers on the offense were
Emily Wade and
Hally Holker assisting in 11 and 10 points, respectively. BSU also had three aces in the match two coming from Wade and
Ashley Crowl with one.

On defense,
Annie Hopp dug eight attacks leading the Beavers. Behind Hopp was Wade with seven and
Hally Holker and Mertz came away with six. The Beavers earned five blocks, one less than the Wildcats with
Rylee Pompa leading the team with four.

The Beavers continue their road trip tomorrow and travel to Sioux Falls, S.D., to compete against (RV) Augustana University at 5 p.m.
