Bemidji State falls in game one at No. 6 Minnesota Duluth

No. 6 Bulldogs down BSU Women’s Hockey 8-1 in series opener

DULUTH, Minn. – The No. 6 University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs earned an 8-1 victory over the Bemidji State University Women's Hockey team in their Western Collegiate Hockey Association series opener Friday night at AMSOIL Arena.
 
Minnesota Duluth opened the game by scoring six, unanswered goals in the first two periods before senior Reece Hunt scored the lone goal for the Beavers 3:05 into the third period.
 
The Beavers were out-shot 37-12 in the game with junior Hannah Hogenson making 29 saves for Bemidji State.
 
The Beavers fall to 4-18-1 (1-16-0 WCHA) while the Bulldogs improve to 16-6-1 (10-6-1 WCHA). Bemidji State will attempt to rebound for game two when the two teams meet again at 3:00 p.m., tomorrow afternoon.
