INDIANAPOLIS – The first round of the NCAA Division II Football Regional Rankings was released on Monday as the teams were mentioned in Under Consideration this week that included Bemidji State University. The official 1-10 rankings will be released next week for each Super Region.
The Beavers are in Super Region 4 and were mentioned in the Under Consideration with nine other teams in the first release. Joining BSU was Angelo State, Augustana, Central Washington, Colorado School of Mines, Minnesota Duluth, Minnesota State, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Texas-Permian Basin and Western Colorado.
The top seven teams in each of the four super regions will advance to the 28-team playoff field. The top seed in each region will receive a bye for the first round. The No. 2 seed would host No. 7, No. 3 would host No. 6 and No. 4 would host No. 5. Last year, Bemidji State claimed the fourth-seed and hosted Winona State.
