Hansen named NSIC Defensive Player of the Year as Beavers have 14 on All-NSIC Teams

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Headlined by redshirt sophomore defensive end Marcus Hansen being named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Year, the Bemidji State University Football team had 14 student-athletes named to the All-NSIC teams today.

It's been a monster season for Hansen as he led the NSIC in tackles for loss (17.5) and sacks (10). He ranks seventh nationally in sacks and 11th nationally in tackles for loss. He posted a tackle for loss in nine games, with a high of four. He added a sack in seven games, reaching a high of 2.5.

Joining Hansen on the All-NSIC First Team was senior offensive lineman Ty Cobb, junior offensive lineman Will LeMire, senior wide receiver Dhel Duncan-Busby, senior quarterback Brandon Alt, senior linebacker Max Buduris, senior linebacker Spencer Wehr, senior defensive end Stephen Hoffman and senior defensive back Princeten Harris.

Landing on the All-NSIC Second Team was redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Isaac Hagstrom, senior running back Sage Booker, senior running back Ali Mohamed, senior defensive back Colton Herman and senior defensive back Jarrett Klein.

Cobb and LeMire have helped power an offense that averages 33.9 points per game and 422.5 yards per game. Duncan-Busby has 44 catches for 712 yards and 10 touchdowns. Alt has completed 194-329 for 2,609 yards and 24 touchdowns. Buduris leads the Beavers with 52 tackles, 39 solo, along with six tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, an interception and eight passes defended. Wehr has 43 tackles, 20 solo, along with five tackles for loss, two interceptions and four passes defended. Hoffman has 41 tackles, 17 solo, 10 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and four passes defended. Harris has 23 tackles, 16 solo, two interceptions and five passes defended.

Hagstrom has helped power an offense that averages 33.9 points per game and 422.5 yards per game. Booker has rushed 78 times for 454 yards and five touchdowns. He also has 19 receptions for 231 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Mohamed has rushed 93 times for 454 yards and a team-high seven touchdowns. He also has four receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown. Herman has 30 tackles, 22 solo, a tackle for loss and four passes defended. Klein is second on the team with 46 tackles, 28 solo, 1.5 tackles for loss, an interception, two forced fumbles and two passes defended.

No. 21/15 Bemidji State travels to No. 12/10 Texas-Permian Basin this Saturday to open the NCAA Playoffs with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
