BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Men's Hockey team fell 5-1 to Minnesota State University, Mankato Friday night in their Central Collegiate Hockey Association series opener in Mankato, Minn.

Eric Pohlkamp scored the Beavers lone goal 5:28 into the third period to pull the Beavers (4-7-0, 3-4-0 CCHA) within one but the Mavericks (5-3-1, 3-0-0 CCHA) rallied to score three unanswered goals to win game one, 5-1.

All five goals for the Mavericks were scored by different goal scorers while Bemidji State out-shot MSU 32-15 in the game.

Bemidji State will look to bounce back tomorrow night for game two against the Mavericks. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:07 p.m. at Mayo Clinic HSEC.
