BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Men's Hockey team goals in each period and a return to the crease from goaltender
Mattias Sholl to defeat Bowling Green State University 3-1 Thursday night in their Central Collegiate Hockey Association series.

Sophomore
Logan Acheson scored his first goal wearing the green and white 12:38 into the first period and Sholl and the Beavers' defense held the Falcons (7-12-0, 5-6-0 CCHA) scoreless through 57:24 to earn three crucial points in the CCHA standings. BSU is now currently tied for second in the standings with 19 league points and trail first place by two points.

Fifth-year senior
Carter Jones put the Beavers up two with his fourth goal in three games while senior
Eric Martin scored an empty-net, power-play goal in the winding seconds to seal the two-goal victory for the Beavers.

Acheson scores his first as a Beavers by holding the puck in the Beavers' attacking zone after failed clear attempt and quickly fired the puck towards the net that deflected past the Falcons' goaltender Cole Moore with 7:22 left in the first period.

Jones then extended the Beavers' lead to 2-0 in the second period for his third consecutive game scoring after batting home a rebounded
Austin Jouppi shot 11:50 into the middle frame.

The Falcons pushed back in the third period scoring late in the frame with 2:36 to play to pull within one but they ran out of time and with 33.3 seconds remaining, Martin sealed the victory for the Beavers with the empty-net goal.

The Beavers dominated from the opening face-off totaling 46 shots in the game including 19 in the final 20 minutes. The Beavers out-shot the Falcons 46-19 and 19-5 in the third period.

BSU also earned six power plays scoring once with the man advantage while its penalty kill denied BGSU on both of its chances.

Junior
Mattias Sholl stopped 18-of-19 shots in his first game returning from injury including stopping the Falcons' first 18 shots in the game before they scored on their final shot.

Bemidji State improved to 7-10-0 on the season and hold a 6-5-0 league record heading into tomorrow's series finale and final CCHA game of the calendar year. Puck drop for the series finale is scheduled for 7:07 p.m., at Sanford Center.
