BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Beaver Volleyball fell to the Augustana University Vikings two sets to three Friday evening. The Beavers and Vikings kept things close throughout the five-set match, ending on a score of 15-12 in favor of the Vikings in set five.
 
A tight first set got the match going with Augie needing an extra point to claim the set 26-24. Kills were even in the first set with both teams grabbing 14. The Beavers marked a kill percentage of 17% during the first set against the Vikings' 26.2%. The Beavers claimed set two by a six-point margin, holding the Vikings to 19 against their own 25. The following set ended with a tighter gap, the Beavers tallying their second win by a score of 25-23. Augie came back in the fourth set for a 25-13 win, sending the game to a fifth set where Augustana would ultimately take the win, 15-12.
 
Rylie Bjerklie led the Beavers with 16.5 points off 15 kills, a solo block and one assisted. Ashley Crowl and Ava Athman followed Bjerklie with 12.5 points each. Athman tallied 10 kills with two service aces and an assisted block while Crowl marked nine kills with three service aces and an assisted block. 
 
Emily Wade led the Beavers with 40 assists and just one set error. Additionally, Wade grabbed three kills and 11 digs. Defensively, four Beavers marked 10 or more digs, Jada Wlodarczyk tallied 14, Kylie Struble with 13, Ashley Crowl with 12 and Emily Wade's 11. 

The Beavers move to 5-6 this season with 0-3 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Following this weekend, the Beavers head to Moorhead, Minn. to take on the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons on Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. They'll then make a Saturday trip to Sioux Falls, S.D. to play the University of Sioux Falls at 4 p.m.
