DULUTH, Minn. – No. 4 University of Minnesota Duluth scored six unanswered goals in the second and third periods to pull away from the Bemidji State University Women's Hockey team Friday afternoon at AMSOIL Arena. The Beavers trailed 2-1 with 35 minutes to play before the Bulldogs began their scoring run.

Shelby Breiland scored the lone goal for the Beavers at 5:25 of the second period for her first goal of the season after redirecting a shot by sophomore
Olivia Dronen.

Kaitlin Groess made 26 saves for the Beavers before sophomore
Eva Filippova saw her first action in the crease this season where she stopped 11-of-13 shots.

Their counterpart Éve Gascon stopped 20-of-21 Beaver shots to earn the victory.

The Beavers fall to 3-11-1 (2-9-0 WCHA) on the season while the Bulldogs improved to 7-5-1 (6-4-1 WCHA).

The teams will meet again tomorrow afternoon at 1:02 p.m., for the series finale.
