New Beavers enshrined at 2024 Athletic Hall of Fame ceremony

BEMIDJI, Minn. – A new wave of inductees entered into Beaver lore on Saturday.

Bemidji State University officially enshrined seven members at the induction ceremony in the Beaux Arts Ballroom during the annual Alumni B-Club/Athletic Hall of Fame Weekend.

Entering as individual athletes were former BSU student-athletes Paul Dashkewytch (men's golf, 1982-86); John Gronski (football, 1986-89); Peggy (Hammel) Moran (volleyball/women's basketball, 1996-2000); and Eugene "Corky" Hanson (wrestling, 1975-78).

Also inducted were Alumni Coaching Achievement Award Winner John Bianchi; John S. Glas Honorary Letter Winner Doug Leif; and Legacy Inductee Donette Swanson.

The event featured speeches, brunch, an appearance by Bucky the Beaver and even a handful of happy tears. The four individual athlete inductees were honored with video tributes. And, as per tradition, the celebration culminated in the singing of the Beaver Fight Song with a hearty rendition.

The group of inductees were also honored at halftime of Saturday's football game, as well as other various athletic events and social gatherings throughout the weekend.
