BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Men's Hockey team extended its Central Collegiate Hockey Association point streak to four games after defeating Ferris State University 3-2 in overtime to capture two more league points Thursday night at Sanford Center.

Sophomore
Adam Flammang scored 1:31 into the overtime period to send the Beavers (12-15-2, 10-7-2 CCHA) to victory and extended his individual point streak to six games and his goal streak to three. The St. Michael, Minn., native has been red-hot and has scored four goals over the last three games.

Bemidji State garnered two league points in the CCHA Standings and are currently tied for second with 34 on the season. It sits one point back of league leader Minnesota State University, Mankato who has played one more league game.

The Beavers opened the scoring in the game with
Jere Vaisanen's sixth goal of the season 12:25 after the opening faceoff after he cleaned up a
Carter Jones rebounded shot.

BSU carried the one-goal lead into the second period but Ferris State's Jacob Dirks scored his second goal of the season 1:50 into the middle frame.

The Beavers retook the lead before the period's end when
Jackson Jutting scored from a nice pace by
Austin Jouppi from just below the left circle with 7:46 to play in the period.

Once again the Beavers took the lead into the intermission but with 6:21 to play, Ferris State's Drew Cooper scored his first of the season to once again tie the game for the Bulldogs.

The teams would head to the five-minute, three-on-three overtime period to decide the winner and 1:31 into the extra frame, Flammang received a pass from
Kyle Looft in full stride and beat FSU goaltender Logan Stein to the far side to score his fourth goal in three games.

Bemidji State outshot the Bulldogs 37-21 in the game with junior
Mattias Sholl making 19 saves to earn his seventh win of the season and improve to 7-7-2. FSU's Stein stopped 34-of-37 shots but falls to 5-13-1.

Vaisanen also continued his hot streak as BSU's second line kept rolling and recorded his second multi-point night in five games with a goal and assist tonight.

Bemidji State will attempt to keep moment rolling into tomorrow night when the two team's meet for game two at Sanford Center. Puck drop is slated for 7:07 p.m. with tickets discounted to just five dollars. Bemidji State will also support Minnesota Make-A-Wish during tomorrow's game and will have a Teddy Bear Toss following the Beavers' first goal.
