Barrette’s career-high 20 points not enough in loss to Sioux Falls

BSU Women’s Basketball junior Erin Barrette scores career-high 20 points in loss to Cougars

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Women's Basketball junior Erin Barrette scored a career-high 20 points but the Beavers fell 72-77 to University of Sioux Falls Friday night at the BSU Gymnasium. Barrette paced the Beavers in scoring and made a career-high 5-of-10 from three-point range.
 
Senior Sam Pogatchnik also recorded her first double-double of the season after scoring 11 points and leading the team with 11 rebounds. The Beavers (6-17, 4-10 NSIC) shot 42.6 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from three but 17 turnovers doomed BSU to its 17th loss of the season.
 
Four Beavers scored double-digits in the game with Barrette leading the way while senior Amme Sheforgen followed with 14 points and sophomore Alyssa Hill also scored 11.
 
Bemidji State will hope to rebound tomorrow afternoon when it welcomes Southwest Minnesota State University to BSU Gymnasium. Tip-off against the Mustangs is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. with the Beavers honoring its three seniors, Isabel Majewski, Sheforgen and Pogatchnik during halftime of the men's game.
