BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Women's Hockey team fell 6-2 to No. 10 St. Cloud State University Saturday afternoon to end the 2023-24 Western Collegiate Hockey Association regular season.

The Beavers (4-28-2, 3-24-1 WCHA) finish eighth in the league standings and will travel to No. 1 Ohio State University for a best-of-three series in the first round of the WCHA Playoffs.

Gabbie Smith following the game for their last game at Sanford Center.

Freshmen
Talya Hendrickson and
Olivia Dronen scored each goal for the Beavers with Dronen scoring her first collegiate goal.

Hendrickson scored her third goal of the season to tie the game at one 3:36 into the second period.

Just 2:03 later, Dronen scored her first goal as a Beaver to put the Beavers up 2-1.

The Huskies answered to score five straight goals and take the game two victory by a score of 6-2.

Junior
Abbie Thompson made 39 saves for the Beavers but falls to 0-17-1.

Bemidji State now travels to Columbus, Ohio to face No. 1 Ohio State for the first round of the WCHA Playoffs, March 1-3. The series is a best-of-three series stretching Friday to Sunday.
