MANKATO, Minn. – The Bemidji State Women's Track & Field team posted its best finish at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Women's Track & Field Championships since 2021 Saturday and finished eighth with 18.5 team points.
 
Senior Mary Goodwin broke her own program record in the 3000-meter with a time of 10:02.46 and placed sixth in the event. She was also named the NSIC's Outstanding Senior of the Year for Women's Track & Field for her success in the classroom.
 
The Beavers broke seven personal records during the two-day championships including senior Natalie Fultz who finished fifth in the pentathlon with a personal-best 3,374 points. Janice Cole also set a personal record in the 400-meter dash and placed eighth with a time of 58.97 to help score for the Beavers.
 
The 4x400-meter relay of Cole, Abby Syverson, Josie Aitken and Fultz placed sixth in the event with a time of 4:00.94 and the distance medley team of Carol Miller, Maggie McCarthy, Syverson and Goodwin placed seventh (12:36.62) to score on Friday.
 
In field events, Tierra Doss finished fourth in the shot put with a throw of 44-07.00 while Fultz also placed eighth in the high jump with a mark of 5-04.50.
