BEMIDJI, Minn. – Senior
Ty Karger hit two home runs and totaled a career-high four RBI Sunday afternoon but Minnesota State University, Mankato completed the three-game series sweep of the Bemidji State University Baseball team in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play.
The Beavers fell 11-6 in game three Sunday afternoon at BSU Baseball Field after falling 21-0 and 18-1 in games one and two Saturday.
Karger finished the series batting 3-for-10 and drove in a team-high four runs while freshman
Matt Filippi led the team totaling four hits in 10 at bats including a double and stole a base.
Junior
Brandon Lind struck out a career-high eight of the 23 batters he faced in four innings but earned the loss (1-3) after allowing eight runs (seven earned) off eight hits and walked three. The eight strikeouts for Lind are most by any Beaver pitcher this season.
Bemidji State's homestand comes to an end and will now be on the road for the next seven games beginning Wednesday, April 17 with a short road trip to Crookston, Minn., to face travel partner University of Minnesota, Crookston for a doubleheader.
