MANKATO, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Softball team fell in both games of its doubleheader at Minnesota State University, Mankato Friday evening in a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The Mavericks escaped with a 2-1 victory in game one and then earned a 9-3 victory in game two.
Aimee Christenson led the Beavers at the plate in game one collecting two hits including a bases loaded RBI single in the top of the seventh to pull the Beavers within one.
Senior
Stella Dolan pitched all six innings in the circle and held the Mavericks to just two runs off six hits, walked three and struck out five but falls to 6-9 on the season.
The Mavericks broke through in game two totaling nine runs off 14 hits while the Beavers recorded three runs off 10 hits.
Alexa Christenson and
Mariah Stevenson each recorded two hits in the game while Alexa,
Jackie Larsen and
Morgan Benedict each drove in runs.
The Beavers will look to rebound tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Winona State University for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
