BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Women's Soccer team won its third straight match Friday night at Chet Anderson Stadium and opened Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play with a 3-0 victory over University of Minnesota Crookston.

Katrina Barthelt scored in her third straight match and now has four goals over the last three matches. She put the Beavers up first with her fourth of the season in the 12
th minute.

The Beavers took the one-goal lead into halftime but just eight minutes into the second half, sophomore
Megan Ko used the left foot and scored her first career goal from an impossible angle.

Bemidji State then locked down its defenses and carried the two-goal lead for most of the second half until the 89
th minute when freshman
Isabel Morales took advantage of a Golden Eagle turnover just outside of the penalty area and scored her first collegiate marker.

The Beavers dominated possession in the match out-shooting the Golden Eagles 26-4 and produced 11 shots on goal compared to just one for UMC.

Graduate goalkeeper
Sonia Alfieri earned her third win of the season in net and improved to 3-2-0 while also collecting her first collegiate shutout by making one save.

The Beavers improved to 3-2-0 on the season winning their third straight match and now hit the road to face St. Cloud State University Sunday at Husky Stadium. Kick-off between the Beavers and Huskies is slated for 1:00 p.m.
