BEMIDJI, Minn. — The Bemidji State University Women's Soccer team and Minot State University played to a 1-1 draw Sunday at Chet Anderson Stadium in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play. Bemidji State took an early lead with a goal in the first half, but Minot State quickly leveled the score. Despite Bemidji State's offensive pressure, outshooting MiSU 22-5, Minot State's goalkeeper recorded eight saves, keeping the match tied.

The first half began with both teams vying for control. Bemidji State took an early lead with
Katrina Barthelt converting a penalty kick at 18:24. Minot State equalized later in the half when Anna Miotto scored from a penalty kick at 25:14. Both sides continued to press, with Bemidji State's
Payton Kropp making a key save on a shot by Emerie Campbell in the 30th minute. The half concluded with the teams locked at 1-1.

The second half was marked by intense defensive efforts, with neither team adding to their tally.
Madisen Fritel of Bemidji State had multiple attempts, including a shot in the 47th minute that was saved by MiSU's Rebecca Sargent. Minot State faced significant pressure, particularly following a red card issued to Campbell in the 57th minute. Despite the numerical disadvantage, Sargent continued to be pivotal, saving several shots, including efforts from
Molly Burkstrand and
Julia Freed. MiSU's Sabrina Amezcua managed a late attempt in the 81st minute, but it was off target, leaving the score unchanged at 1-1 by the end of regulation.

Barthelt scored one goal for Bemidji State and had two shots on goal from a total of three attempts. Fritel led the team with five shots, two of which were on target. Kropp made one save in goal, playing the full 90 minutes and facing five shots.
Megan Ko contributed defensively with two shots, one of which was on goal.

Bemidji State holds a record of 5-2-2 overall and 3-1-2 in conference play. MiSU stands at 3-4-2 overall with an identical 3-1-2 conference record. Each team is tied for 4
th in the conference standings with 11 points.

The Beavers will next hit the road for a pair of matches at St. Cloud State University and Minnesota State University, Mankato Oct. 10 and 12, respectively.
