MANKATO, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Men's Hockey team's 2024-25 season came to an end Saturday night as No. 16/15 Minnesota State University Mankato defeated the Beavers 4-0 in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Mason Cup Semifinal at Mayo Clinic HSEC in Mankato, Minn.

The Beavers were held off the scoresheet by CCHA Goaltender and Player of the Year Alex Tracy who stopped all 27 shots by the Beavers. Bemidji State was shutout for the first time this season and first time since Nov. 25, 2023.

BSU finishes the 2024-25 season with a 15-18-5 record.

It was a slow start for the Beavers and the Mavericks took advantage scoring the game's first goal 8:06 into the first period when Zach Krajnik scored. Minnesota State carried the one-goal lead into the first intermission and most of the second period but extended their lead to two with just 3:21 left in the middle frame.

The Beavers tried clawing their way back into the game in the third but 6:51 into the final period, Adam Eisele put the game out of reach with his second goal of the game. Kaden Bohlsen later scored into the empty net with 1:43 to play to seal the game for the Mavericks.

Bemidji State earned two power play opportunities in the game but were held scoreless on each attempt by Tracy and the Mavericks' penalty-kill unit.

Senior goaltender
Mattias Sholl kept the Beavers within striking distance topping 14 of the Mavericks first 16 shots. However, he earned the loss in his final collegiate game ending his Beaver career with a 52-51-12 record.
