BSU Baseball falls in series at Concordia-St. Paul

Beavers fall in three games to CSP, 3-1, 13-3 and 14-4

BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Baseball team fell in all three games in its Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference series at Concordia University-St. Pau Saturday-Sunday. The Beavers fell 3-1 and 13-3 in their doubleheader Saturday and then fell 14-4 in the series finale Sunday.
 
Josh Haugen started the first game for Bemidji State University, pitching 4 1/3 innings, allowing six hits and three earned runs while striking out three and walking four batters. Connor Donlin made a brief appearance, pitching 1/3 of an inning and giving up one hit without allowing any runs or walks. Matt Greiner also pitched 1/3 of an inning, facing just one hitter and keeping a clean sheet without any hits or walks. Ty Schulte closed the pitching for the Beavers with a scoreless inning, facing three batters and recording no hits or walks.
 
In terms of offense, Matt Filippi stood out for Bemidji State with one hit and one RBI, contributing the only RBI for the team. Adrian Falcon also recorded one hit during his three at-bats.
 
In the second game, Jacob Smith started on the mound for Bemidji State, pitching 3 1/3 innings and allowing nine earned runs on 10 hits, including three home runs, and recording four strikeouts. Bret Inman followed, pitching just 1/3 of an inning, giving up three earned runs on two hits, including a home run, and issuing two walks. Matt Greiner took over for Inman, pitching 1/3 of an inning and allowing one hit without surrendering any runs. Liam McGrath closed the game for the Beavers, pitching two innings, allowing one earned run on three hits, and recording one strikeout.
 
The Beavers' team exhibited some standout performances, with Ben Corradi leading the offensive effort, going 3-for-3 with a run scored. Jack Feldman also played a significant role, securing the team's only hit with runners in scoring position and driving in two runs. Noah Drusch was notable at second base with four assists, showcasing solid fielding skills.
 
In the third game, Brandon Lind started on the mound for Bemidji State, pitching 3 1/3 innings and allowing four earned runs on six hits, with two strikeouts and one walk. Matt Greiner followed, contributing 2/3 of an inning with two earned runs on four hits. Cole Smith pitched 1 2/3 innings, surrendering five earned runs on five hits, including a home run and a double. Sawyer Nendick faced six batters in 1/3 of an inning, allowing three earned runs on three hits and two walks. Riley Czech closed out the pitching for the Beavers with 1/3 of an inning, giving up one hit and one walk.
 
On the offensive side in the third game, Matt Filippi led the Beavers with a solo home run. Noah Drusch also contributed a solo home run. Adrian Falcon made an impact with a double, collecting one hit and one run, while Jack Feldman showcased versatility with a stolen base, a hit, and an RBI, providing a solid contribution from the plate.
 
The Beavers remain on the road for their final mid-week doubleheader Tuesday, April 29 and will battle the Beavers of Minot State University before returning home to close the 2025 season against St. Cloud State University May 2-3.
