Beaver Softball ranks 15th in NFCA Division II for GPA

Bemidji State softball marks a 3.720 to take 15th in NFCA DII Team GPA for 2025

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Softball took home 15th place in this year's National Fastpitch Coaches Association Team GPA lineup. The Beavers finished the 2024-25 school year with a team GPA of 3.720.
 
Bemidji State was the only Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference team to land in the top 50 with Minnesota State University, Mankato taking 55th. Earlier this summer, 16 Bemidji State Softball student-athletes were named NFCA All-American Scholar-Athletes, marking GPAs of 3.5 or higher, with six earning 4.0 GPAs. 
 
The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. NCAA Division III led the way with 2,565 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2024-25. NCAA Division I followed with 2,544 and NCAA Division II with 2,179. Junior colleges and NAIA came in with 895 and 1,010 student-athletes respectively.

Located on the shore of Lake Bemidji, Bemidji State University sponsors 15 varsity athletic programs with NCAA Division I men's and women's hockey membership in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association and Western Collegiate Hockey Association, while its 13 NCAA Division II programs hold membership in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
