Softball releases schedule of 56 games for 2026

Beavers to compete in four tournaments ahead of 2026 NSIC regular season

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Softball Head Coach Jordan Petersen announced the team's 2026 schedule Thursday afternoon. The Beavers are slated for 56 games between the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference regular season and four preseason tournaments. 
 
The Beavers' schedule kicks off with St. Cloud State University's annual Kelly Laas Memorial Tournament on Feb. 6th and 7th. BSU starts with a 10 a.m. matchup against Concordia University, St. Paul then St. Cloud State at 2 p.m. on Feb. 6. The following day, Bemidji State meets with Southwest Minnesota State University at 10 a.m. and St. Cloud State once again at 2 p.m. 
 
A couple of weeks later, Bemidji State heads to Rosemont, Ill. for the Lewis Dome Invitational, hosted by Lewis University, Feb. 19-21. The tournament starts with BSU taking on Ferris State University and Purdue University Northwest on Feb. 19. Similar to last season, the Beavers will take on the Roosevelt University Lakers and Hillsdale College Chargers the following day. Finally, BSU will close their trip with Upper Iowa University and Lewis University on Saturday, Feb. 21. 
 
Coach Petersen has added a new tournament to this season's schedule, the Top Gun Midwest College Classic in Shawnee, Kan. from Feb. 27-Mar. 1. The tournament kicks off with Newman University and Washburn University, followed by Missouri Western State University and University of Central Missouri on Feb. 28. BSU finishes the trip Mar. 1 with a 10 a.m. matchup against Emporia State University and 12:15 first pitch against Fort Hays State University.
 
Similarly to previous seasons, the Beavers will spend spring break in Florida but will now be competing in The Space Coast Spring Games, hosted at the USSSA Space Coast Softball Complex in Melbourne, Fla. Mar. 6-11. The Beavers start with Cedarville University, Southern New Hampshire University, Roosevelt University, Salem State University, Thomas More University and Bentley University. They'll have an off day on Mar. 9 before finishing the tournament with Goldey-Beacom College, D'Youville University, Malone University and University of Indianapolis. 
 
When the team returns from Florida, they will kick off the NSIC regular season on March 21 with a double header at home against Augustana University. All NSIC matchups will be played as double headers, weather permitting. The following day, BSU is set to host Wayne State College. They'll then head back on the road to close March against SMSU and University of Sioux Falls. 
 
April is filled with the brunt of BSU's NSIC schedule, starting with hosting Minot State University April 3 and University of Mary April 4. BSU heads to Duluth, Minn. for a mid-week series against University of Minnesota Duluth Apr. 7. Two more road games Apr. 11 and 12 put BSU at University of Jamestown and Northern State University. A Friday matchup at home against Minnesota State University Moorhead will kick off a home-and-home weekend on Apr. 17, followed by a trip to University of Minnesota Crookston Apr. 19. The month closes with senior day and alumni day on Apr. 25 and 26 against Winona State University and Minnesota State University, Mankato.
 
May closes out regular season action with two more matchups against Concordia-St. Paul and St. Cloud State May 2 and 3. This will lead the teams into the NSIC tournament, beginning May 6 at the Sanford Diamonds in Sioux Falls, S.D. More information on the tournament will be released closer to the date.
