BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Softball Head Coach
Jordan Petersen announced the signing of five student-athletes from the class of 2026 Wednesday.
"This class brings a great mix of talent, energy, and drive to our program," said Coach Petersen. "Each of these athletes has shown a strong commitment to growth both on and off the field, and I know they'll make an immediate impact. They represent exactly what we look for in Beaver Softball, hard work, grit, and a team-first mindset."
Julia Wigley joins the Beavers as a right-handed infielder and All-Conference honorable mention at Rosemount High School. With plans to major in sports management and/or business, she brings with a strong academic work ethic, earning a Presidential Award for her GPA, qualifying for state DECA and winning student of the month in business. Wigley also is a member of the National Honor Society. Athletically, Wigley has started in 54 consecutive games at third base for the Rosemount Leprechaun Varsity program. During her junior career, Wigley marked 20 hits, driving in 14 runs. In the 2025 fall club season, Wigley hit at .463 percent, collecting five doubles, batting in 11 runs, scoring 21 and marking an on-base percentage of .551. While with RHS, the team placed third in the Minnesota State High School League State Tournament for class 4A. During the 2023 club season, Wigley's team placed first in the USSSA Great Lakes National Championship.
Addison Andrews comes to Bemidji as a four-time varsity letter winner at Champlin Park High School and is set to captain the 2026 Rebel squad from the outfield. Andrews earned the team's Most Improved Award in 2024 during her freshman campaign. She is also a letter winner for girl's ice hockey and was the 2024 Rebel Award winner which is given to the best overall athlete consisting of not only athletic abilities but also academic performance, team leadership, work ethic and coachability. Academically, Andrews is a four-time academic letter award winner, highest honors honor roll selection and academic award winner. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and National Society of High School Scholars. Andrews plans to major in pre-veterinary medicine. Off the field, she enjoys being outdoors, boating and water skiing.

Jaci Daudt is a right-handed catcher for Zimmerman High School. Daudt was awarded All-Conference honors and MVP awards during her sophomore and junior seasons. She is a four-year varsity starter and is a captain of the Thunder varsity team. During last season, Daudt batted at .365 and marked an on-base percentage of .423. She tallied 23 hits with nine singles, 13 doubles and a home run. In the field, she took part in three double plays last season with a .981 fielding percentage and 107 assists. Academically, Daudt plans to major in elementary education at Bemidji State.
A catcher and infielder at South St. Paul Secondary,
Chloe O'Neill joins the Beavers with intent to major in psychology and criminal justice. O'Neill is an All-Section, two-time All-Conference and All-Conference honorable mention selection. She has earned three academic letters through her high-school career. She is a member of the SSPS student council and is a school board student representative. Last season, O'Neill batted at .338 with a .938 fielding percentage at short stop. As a team, the Packers have taken third place in sections.
Ella Koegl joins BSU with intent to major in criminology. She was a part of the Minnesota State Champion team in 2025. At the plate, Koegl averaged .448 with 17 career home runs and a career .985 fielding percentage with 1069 chances. Off the field, she is an active supporter and volunteer with Special Olympics and coaches youth softball.
The Beavers will start their season in early February, attending the Kelly Laas Memorial Tournament in St. Cloud, Minn. before heading to a few more tournaments ahead of their annual Spring Break trip to Florida. Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play kicks off in late March. The full BSU Softball 2026 schedule will be released closer to the start of the season.
