GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The Bemidji State University Women's Tennis team suffered its first loss of the season Saturday falling to Augustana University (7-1, 4-0 NSIC) at Choice Health and Fitness in Grand Forks, N.D. The Beavers best start to a season in program history on record came to an end after falling in all six singles contests and lost the doubles point.

Bemidji State dropped the doubles point after all three matches concluded in favor of the opponent. At No. 1 doubles,
Marla Davies and Leshem ended their match with a 1-6 score. Garcia Acebal and Rutten faced a 1-6 result at No. 2 doubles. The duo of
Valesca Rodriguez and Ibanez finished at No. 3 doubles with a 0-6 score.

In singles competition, the Beavers struggled to find success across the courts. At No. 1 singles, Leshem ended with a 3-6, 0-6 scoreline. Garcia Acebal competed at No. 2 singles and finished with a 3-6, 3-6 result.
Marla Davies, playing at No. 3 singles, recorded a 0-6, 2-6 score.

At No. 4 singles, Rutten faced a 0-6, 0-6 defeat. Ibanez's match at No. 5 singles concluded with a 0-6, 1-6 result. Rodriguez wrapped up the day at No. 6 singles, finishing with a 0-6, 0-6 score.
