BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University Football Head Coach
Brent Bolte announced the Beavers' 100
th Anniversary Season Schedule Tuesday morning. The Beavers are set to host six games at historic Chet Anderson Stadium, five of which will be a part of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference schedule.
The Beavers are set to open the season in the same fashion as the past two years, with Michigan Technological University on August 29 at 6 p.m. BSU and MTU have split the previous two meetings with the Beavers defeating the Huskies in overtime two seasons ago. This year's home opener is also set to be the annual Shrine Game as the Beavers partner with the Headwaters Shrine Club and their community engagement efforts focusing on screening clinics children.
BSU stays at Chet Anderson Stadium the following week, playing host to Southwest Minnesota State University at 2 p.m. Sept. 5. With Senior Day on the schedule, the Beavers will look for a similar outcome to the last time they played the Mustangs, shutting out SMSU 33-0 on Senior Day in 2024.
The Beavers will have a tough opponent for the first road trip of the season, heading down to Mankato, Minn. to take on Minnesota State University, Mankato on Sept. 12. The Beavers will be on the hunt for revenge as the Mavericks knocked the team out of the NCAA Playoffs Quarterfinals in 2024, ending the team's historic run to the third round for the first time in program history. The Mavericks ended the 2025 season ranked eighth in the AFCA with a final record of 10-4, falling to No. 1 Ferris State University in the quarterfinals.
Bemidji State stays on the road Sept. 19, traveling to St. Paul, Minn. to take on Concordia University, St. Paul. The Beavers and Golden Bears have not met since Oct. 21, 2023 when BSU hosted CSP and took a 38-3 win on Youth Football Day at the Chet. Last season, the Golden Bears finished 2-9 overall with a 2-8 NSIC record.
The Beavers are set to take on Minot State University at 2 p.m. for Homecoming on Sep. 26, looking for a rematch after last season's 28-21 loss in Minot, N.D. The Beavers, along with Bemidji State's Alumni and Foundation and other campus organizations, have much in store for this year with full schedules and plans to be announced closer to gameday.
Heading back on the road Oct. 3, the Beavers head to Northern State University in Aberdeen, S.D. for an evening game against the Wolves at 6 p.m. This past season, the Beavers came away with a three-point win over the Wolves, downing NSU 24-21 on Homecoming to earn the team's first win of the season and jump in the lake.
The Beavers' second win of the season last year came from this year's week six opponent, Wayne State College. The Beavers are set to host the Wildcats at 1 p.m. Last year's trip to Wayne, Neb. ended with the Beavers on top, taking home the 26-21 victory. A win this year would send BSU into its week-seven bye on a high note.
Coming back from the week-seven break, week eight has the Beavers heading on the road to Jamestown, N.D. to take on the University of Jamestown Jimmies. 2026 will be the Jimmies' first year of being eligible for post-season play after entering the NSIC in 2025. In last year's Hall of Fame Game, the Beavers extended their win streak to three games with a 47-25 victory over the Jimmies on Oct. 25.
BSU will close out the home portion of its regular season with back-to-back home games against Minnesota State University Moorhead and University of Minnesota Duluth. Both games are set for a 1 p.m. kickoff at the Chet. Last season, the Beavers were tripped up in the annual Battle Axe Rivalry game against MSUM, falling 49-21 and having to say goodbye to the axe for the first time since 2018. The following week, the Beavers were taken down in Duluth by the Bulldogs, 42-28. The Bulldogs finished the 2025 season ranked 16
th in the AFCA.
The regular season concludes at University of Mary on Nov. 14. Last season, the Beavers hosted the Maruaders and ended the season on a high note with a 34-21 victory on Nov. 15.
