MANDAN, N.D. – The Bemidji State University Women's Tennis qualified for the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Women's Tennis Tournament over the weekend despite losses to University of Mary and University of Jamestown. The Beavers earned the sixth seed in the conference postseason tournament and made the tournament for the first time since 2021.
Over the weekend, the Beavers had a challenging weekend at the Mandan Tennis Center, falling to Mary 7-0 Saturday and then losing to the University of Jamestown, 4-3 Sunday.
Against Mary
Marla Davies and
Mia Leshem posted a win at No. 1 doubles with a score of 6-2. However, despite the win, the Beavers could not muster a win at any other match.

The following day against Jamestown, Bemidji State secured the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Garcia Acebal and Rutten combined for a win at No. 2 doubles, while Rodriguez and Ibanez claimed victory at No. 3 doubles. The match at No. 1 doubles, however, saw Leshem and Davies lose 1-6.
In singles, Garcia Acebal delivered a strong performance at No. 2 singles, winning 6-4, 6-2, while Rutten added to the score with a decisive 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles. Despite a strong start, Leshem fell at No. 1 singles, 0-6, 4-6, and Rodriguez was defeated at No. 4 singles, 4-6, 1-6. Davies engaged in a competitive three-set match at No. 3 singles but ultimately lost, with scores of 6-4, 5-7, 2-6. Ibanez concluded the singles matches at No. 6 singles with a result of 2-6, 2-6.
