Beavers announce full 2026-27 slate

BSU Men’s Hockey announces non-conference opponents to reveal full 35-game 2026-27 schedule

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Men's Hockey head coach Tom Serratore revealed non-conference dates and opponents to announce the full 35-game 2026-27 schedule for the Beavers Thursday afternoon.

The Beavers officially open the new season October 3 with one game against St. Cloud State University at Sanford Center to kick-off the 35-game season. The Beavers will play five non-conference opponents including one exhibition while also playing a full 26-game Central Collegiate Hockey Association slate.
 
16 games will be played at the Beavers' home rink, Sanford Center, while 19 will be played on the road. The Beavers once again battle regional non-conference rivals in St. Cloud State, University of North Dakota and University of Minnesota Duluth while also seeing a former conference opponent in a non-conference series in University of St. Thomas. For the fourth time in five years, the Beavers will face University of Minnesota in a single-game exhibition.
 
BSU's first two games will be at home as they host SCSU (Oct. 3) and University of North Dakota (Oct. 9) before the next two games on the road at North Dakota (Oct. 10) and at University of Minnesota Duluth (Oct. 23).
 
The Beavers then kick-off a three-game home stand beginning Oct. 24 against UMD and ending with a two-game, league series against Ferris State University, Oct. 30-31.
 
After their CCHA opening series against the Bulldogs, the Beavers travel to Bowling Green State University November 6-7 for their first conference road trip. BSU then returns home to host conference rival Minnesota State University, Mankato the following weekend (Nov. 13-14). The Beavers then hit the road again Nov. 20-21 to Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., to face Lake Superior State University.
 
Bemidji State then spends Thanksgiving weekend with a home-and-home series against St. Thomas marking the first time the two teams faced-off as non-conference opponents since 1998.
 
The Beavers open play in December with a road trip to Augustana University Dec. 4-5 and then return home to host Michigan Technological University Dec. 11-12. Bemidji State ends the 2026 calendar year with its series finale against St. Cloud State Dec. 16.
 
BSU then opens 2027 with an exhibition at Minnesota January 2 marking their final non-conference opponent of the season. The Beavers then travel to Marquette, Mich., Jan. 8-9 to resume CCHA play against Northern Michigan University. BSU is back at home the following weekend to host Bowling Green Jan. 15-16. The Beavers travel to Minnesota State Jan. 29-30 to see the Mavericks for a second time to end January.
 
The Beavers kick-off February by hosting Lake Superior State Feb. 5-6 before a road trip to Big Rapids, Mich., to face Ferris State Feb. 12-13. BSU then hosts its final home games of the season Feb. 19-20 against Augustana before the conclusion of the season at Michigan Tech Feb. 26-27.
 
The top four teams following regular-season action will host the next four in the Quarterfinals of the Mason Cup Playoffs on March 5-7, with the winner of each best-of-three series advancing to the league semifinals. For the fifth consecutive year, both Semifinals (Mar. 13) and the final will be played as a single game at the respective campus sites of the highest-seeded team, with the Championship Game taking place on Friday, March 19. The Mason Cup will be presented to the CCHA playoff champions, who will receive an automatic qualification to the 16-team NCAA Tournament.
 
The NCAA Tournament opens play March 25-28 with regional sites in Loveland, Colo., Bridgeport, Conn., Springfield, Mass., and Fargo, N.D.
 
The 2027 Frozen Four is set to take place at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., on April 8 & 10. 
 
2026-27 will be the sixth season as a member of the CCHA for the Beavers and the 71st season in program history. The Beavers aim to improve on a 13-19-4 record last season and sixth-place finish in the CCHA.
