BEMIDJI, Minn. — The Bemidji State University Women's Soccer team played to a scoreless draw against Missouri Western State University (0-0-1, 0-0-0) on Friday at Chet Anderson Stadium. Bemidji State goalkeeper Rozlyn Buettner recorded seven saves to secure the shutout, her first of the season and third of her career.
 
The first half between the Beavers (0-0-1) and the Griffons (0-0-1) concluded with no goals scored. Rozlyn Buettner of Bemidji State and Morgan Byrd of the Griffons both played pivotal roles as goalkeepers, each making crucial saves to keep the score level. Bemidji State's Madisen Fritel had two early attempts on goal, both saved by Byrd, while MWSU's Kiara Carr and Marielle Wright also tested Buettner, who responded with key saves. The period saw numerous fouls and corner kicks, but neither team was able to break the deadlock.
 
The second half remained scoreless between Bemidji State and Missouri Western, with both teams unable to find the back of the net. Bemidji State's Maya Johnson attempted an early shot just 25 seconds into the period, but it did not convert. The Griffons' offensive efforts were thwarted by Buettner, who made key saves in the 52nd, 57th, and 60th minutes. Despite several fouls and a notable offside call against Missouri Western in the 79th minute, neither team managed to break through, resulting in a 0-0 draw at the end of the match.
 
Rozlyn Buettner recorded a career-high seven saves to secure a shutout for Bemidji State. Madisen Fritel led the team in shot attempts, finishing with three shots and two on target. Brenna Nichols contributed with one shot on goal. Dayna Stocke also added a shot on goal in the match.
 
Up next for Bemidji State, the team will face Northwest Missouri State University Sunday, Aug. 30, at 1 p.m. at Chet Anderson Stadium.
