SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Bemidji State University Women's Soccer team tied University ofSioux Falls 0-0 Friday at Bob Young Field in Sioux Falls, S.D., in a match that was delayed 2.5 hours due to weather. Bemidji State finished with a 13-5 advantage in shots and put nine on goal while limiting USF to one shot on goal.
 
BSU generated a sustained first-half push from 17:35 to 23:26, with Ella Wade, Madeline Davey and Sydney Sutherland forcing four saves from Morgan Jost. USF later recorded its first shot when Maren Hayward missed left at 31:17, then earned a corner kick at 38:24. Neither side broke through before halftime, and the first half ended without a goal.
 
The Beavers generated the first sustained stretch of the second half, with Molly Burkstrand shooting at 48:24, Madisen Fritel forcing a save from Delani Daubman at 48:57, and Megan Ko and Burkstrand adding attempts while Bemidji St. earned three corners by 59:44. The Cougars had their own looks in that span, as Chloe Wilson missed left at 55:29 and Maren Hayward put a shot on frame that Payton Kropp saved at 56:28. After a foul-heavy stretch, USF created late pressure with corners at 82:23 and 85:40 before Elizabeth Schmidt hit the right woodwork at 86:31 with the match still 0-0. Bemidji State closed with two corners, saved shots from Grace Schwoch and Meredith Paar, and a Burkstrand attempt at 90:00, but neither team scored and the match ended 0-0.
 
Burkstrand led Bemidji State with four shots and put one on goal. Sutherland recorded two shots, both on goal. Kropp played all 90 minutes in goal, made one save and recorded her first career shutout.
 
Bemidji State is now 1-1-2 overall and 0-0-1 in conference play. USF is 2-1-1 overall and 0-0-1 in conference play.
 
Up next, Bemidji State travels to Marshall, Minn., to face Southwest Minnesota State University Sunday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m.
