MANKATO, Minn. (Verizon Wireless Center) -- Freshman Kiki Radke scored the first two goals of her collegiate career, but it was not enough to counter as Minnesota State University, Mankato earned a 3-2 victory over Bemidji State University Saturday to split the WCHA series.

The Beavers found themselves in a 3-0 hole early in the first period as the Mavericks scored three times during the first 6:04 of the frame.

Before the first intermission (15:50), Radke found the back of the net to close the gap to 3-1, getting a pass from Alexis Joyce to start the scoring play.

The freshman would score again at the 17:06 mark of the second period, netting a power-play goal with help from Haley Mack and Abby Halluska.

Bemidji State out shot the Mavericks 10-4 during the final 20 minutes of play, but was unable to equalize the score as MSU held off the rally to preserve the 3-2 victory.

The Beavers finished the day going 1-for-2 on the power play while holding MSU without a goal in two opportunities.

Brittni Mowat was in net for the Beavers, turning aside 17 shots in 58:45 between the pipes, but was tagged with the loss after allowing all three MSU goals.  She fell to 5-10-1 on the season.

The Beavers, now 6-11-1 overall and 4-11-1 in league play, shift their focus outside the WCHA as they wrap up the first half of the season with a trip to Rochester, N.Y. to battle the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) for a two-game non-conference series, Dec. 9-10. The series will get underway from Frank Ritter Memorial Ice Arena at 1:05 p.m. Friday before completing the series at 12:05 p.m. Saturday.
