Box Score 2 CLERMONT, Fla. – The Bemidji State University softball team defeated Saint Michael’s College and Clarion University Tuesday afternoon to sweep the third day at the Spring Break Tournament in Clermont, Fla. The Beavers allowed just one run over two games to improve to 5-3 (0-0 NSIC) on the season.

Bemidji State got a quick start to the game by scoring four runs in the first inning highlighted by a three-run double by freshman Olivia Tucker.
The Beavers added to their run total with four more in the second inning. Kelsey McAllister started the scoring in the inning with a two-run double followed by an RBI single by Alayna Krejci and then an RBI double by Makayla Pagel.
Bemidji State added two more runs in the third inning after Angie Roberts scored off an error and Krejci tallied her second RBI single of the game to extend the Beavers lead to 10-0 after three. Roberts would add another run in the fourth from an inside the park home run to close out the scoring for the Beavers and clinch the 11-0 victory.
Jessica Yost was dominant in the circle to earn her fourth win of the season. Yost limited the Purple Knights to just one hit over five innings and picked up her first shutout of the season. She tallied 12 strikeouts in the game and only allowed one walk and now boasts a 4-1 record on the season.
In total, eight different Beavers tallied a hit in the game with McAllister and Krejci each gathering two. McAllister went 2-for-2 at the plate with a double and two RBI while Krejci followed by going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run scored.
Bemidji State 8, Clarion 1
The Beavers continued their excellent offensive play into game two of the day by tallying a run in every inning against Clarion except the first.
The Beavers were led by senior Angie Roberts who went 1-for-4 in the game with two RBI and also came in to score two runs. Alayna Krejci added an RBI while Brooke Phillips drew two walks and scored two runs.
The Golden Eagles committed three errors in the game and the Beavers were able to tally three runs off of the their mistakes.
Sophomore Rochelle Koshalek had her best game of the season in the circle and went all seven innings allowing just one earned run off of five hits. She totaled two strikeouts while only walking one to pick up her first win of the season.
Bemidji State will have Wednesday off before getting back in action Thursday against Seton Hill and Slipper Rock in Clermont, Fla.
