JAN PHYL VILLAGE, Fla. – The Bemidji State University softball team opened the first two days of The Spring Games by splitting each day. The Beavers (8-6) split day one by falling to Dominican College (NY) 5-4 but rebounded with an 8-6 victory over California University of Pennsylvania.

Bemidji State then fell to Lewis University by a score of 5-4 in nine innings to begin day two Monday but responded with a 3-2 win over Ashland University.

Junior Stephi Dullum earned the win in the circle for the Beavers in their victory over Cal.-Pennsylvania after pitching all seven innings and allowed six runs, four earned, off eight hits and had three strikeouts.

At the plate, senior Olivia Tucker led the Beavers with three hits including a home run and totaled six RBI.

In the Beavers' second win of the spring games, freshman Kyla Damerow led the Beavers to victory after pitching 6.2 innings and held Ashland to just two runs, one earned, four hits and recorded three strikeouts. Junior Stephi Dullum came in to pitch for the last out of the game and earned her first save of the season. 

At the plate, sophomore Elaina Christiansen, junior Lisa Kossan and junior Sami Dullum each recorded RBI's for the Beavers.

Bemidji State continues play at The Spring Games and faces Concord University and University of Missouri-St. Louis at 8 and 10:15 a.m., tomorrow morning.
