Box Score BEMIDJI, Minn. – After falling in the first two sets at University of Minnesota, Crookston, the Bemidji State University volleyball team rallied to win the next three sets and earn its second victory of the season with a 3-2 (15-25, 17-25, 25-21, 25-17, 15-11) win over the Golden Eagles (1-18, 0-14 NSIC).
Senior Anna Averkamp and freshman Lauren Sitter paced the Beavers (2-20, 2-12 NSIC) with 11 kills each while sophomore Ashley Crowl followed with nine and sophomore Rylie Bjerklie added eight. Bemidji State totaled 51 kills as a team and hit .151 with 51 kills, 28 errors and 152 attacks.
Sitter paced the team by hitting at a .529 clip with 11 kills, two errors and 17 attacks while Bjerklie and redshirt sophomore Ashley East each followed by hitting .273. Freshman Emily Wade earned 42 assists setting the ball for the Beavers' attack, two shy of tying a career high, while also adding 20 digs on defense, a career mark for the freshman.
Bemidji State totaled 75 digs as a team, a season best, and were led by sophomore Lauren Justesen who totaled 23 in the match.
The Beavers earned their second consecutive victory with the win and now return home to host (RV) University of Minnesota Duluth Saturday at 4 p.m.
