Box Score 2 ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Bemidji State University softball team dropped both games of its doubleheader at Northern State University Saturday afternoon in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play. The Beavers (7-17, 3-7 NSIC) fell by scores of 7-0 in game one and 8-0 in five innings in game two.
The Beavers were held to just one hit for the third consecutive game in game one versus the Wolves as Meghan Anderson pitched the one-hitter for Northern State. Northern State out-hit the Beavers 11-1 in the game while the Beavers committed four errors in the field.
Senior Lisa Kossan recorded the lone hit for the Beavers while senior Stephi Dullum earned the loss in the circle and falls to 5-3 on the season after allowing six runs off of 10 hits in five innings. Freshman Stella Dolan pitched one inning in relief and allowed one run (unearned) off of one hit.
Bemidji State struggled at the plate again in game two and were held to just two hits by Northern State pitcher Elyse Cuttic. Junior Kora Martin and senior Gabi Bingham recorded the lone hits for the Beavers as they were out-hit 14-2 in the game.
Redshirt freshman Kyla Damerow earned the loss in the circle after pitching 4.2 innings and allowed eight runs off of 14 hits and had three strikeouts.
Bemidji State will try to bounce back tomorrow afternoon when it travels to Minnesota State University, Moorhead for a doubleheader at Noon and 2 p.m.
