WINONA, Minn. – Despite earning a 25-21 victory in set one, the Bemidji State University volleyball team fell on the road at Winona State University, 3-1 (25-21, 12-25, 18-25, 10-25), to continue Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play.

With the loss, the Beavers fall to 3-18 on the season and are now 2-11 in conference play.

Junior
Hallie Mertz led the Beavers with 11 kills while junior
Lauren Sitter followed with eight and freshman
Zayda Priebe added seven. Bemidji State hit just .070 in the match despite hitting at a .267 clip in the first set. Priebe paced the Beavers' attacked by hitting .333 (7-2-15) in the match while Sitter followed at .227 (8-3-22).

Emily Wade led BSU setters with 19 assists while freshman
Hally Holker followed with 15.

Defensively, senior
Annie Hopp paced the Beavers with 18 digs for a season high. She was followed by Mertz who finished just shy of the double-double with nine. At the net, senior
Rylee Pompa paced the Beavers with five block assists while Priebe added two solo and three assisted as the Beavers earned 10 blocks as a team for third most this season.

Bemidji State will play a rare Thursday-Saturday weekend next weekend by traveling to St. Cloud State University Thursday, Oct. 20 before returning home to host University of Minnesota Duluth, Saturday.
