Lleyton Roed and sophomore
Mattias Sholl of the Bemidji State University Men's Hockey team both were named Central Collegiate Hockey Association Players of the Week after helping the Beavers to five points at (RV) Michigan Technological University this past weekend.

Roed was named the league's Rookie of the Week, his first career accolade, while Sholl was named the Goaltender of the Week for the Week for the first time in his career after earning Rookie of the Week honors once last season.

Roed, a native of White Bear Lake, Minn., scored three of the Beavers' seven goals over the weekend including scoring his first career goal in Friday's 5-2 victory over the Huskies. Roed also added his second career goal in the game and recorded an assist for his first career multi-goal and three-point effort. He then scored the first goal in Saturday's 2-2 tie to finish the weekend with a team-high four points. Roed tied for the team lead with a +4 rating on the ice and posted 10 shots on goal and blocked one shot.

Sholl, from Hermosa Beach, Calif., was named the league's goaltender of the week after going 1-0-1 between the pipes. Sholl finished the weekend stopping 40-of-44 shots for a .909 save percentage and 1.93 goals against average in 124:40 minutes of play. He began the weekend by stopping 17-of-19 shots in Friday's 5-2 victory over the Huskies then followed by stopping 23-of-25 shots in Saturday's 2-2 tie.

Joining Roed and Sholl were Northern Michigan's AJ Vanderbeck as the Forward of the Week and St. Thomas' Ethan Gauer as the Defenseman of the Week.

The BSU men's hockey team will take a break from conference play this weekend but will host the No. 2 team in the nation in St. Cloud State University for a home-and-home series. The Beavers first host the Huskies at Sanford Center Friday, Oct. 28 at 7:07 p.m., before traveling to St. Cloud Saturday for 6:07 p.m., puck drop.
