Box Score 2 DULUTH, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Duluth softball team totaled seven home runs over two games including four in game two as the Bulldogs earned a sweep over Bemidji State University. Minnesota Duluth earned a 10-2 victory in six innings in game one and then followed with a 13-2 victory in five innings in game two.
The Beavers fall to 7-25 on the season and have now lost their last eight games to fall to 4-8 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action.
Bemidji State was led by freshman Mariah Stevenson who batted 4-for-7 in the doubleheader including a two-RBI double in game one. She was followed by freshman Aimee Christenson who went 3-for-5 and drew two walks.
Senior Kaidron McClafferty pitched all 5.1 innings in game one and falls to 3-9 this season after allowing 10 runs (nine earned) off 17 hits and totaled three strikeouts.
Redshirt sophomore Kyla Damerow earned the loss in game two and falls to 1-5 this season after allowing 13 runs (10 earned) off 12 hits and recorded one strikeout.
The Beavers continue play on the road and will travel to Concordia University-St. Paul and No. 20 Minnesota State University, Mankato for a pair of doubleheaders Friday-Saturday.
