Box Score 2 MANKATO, Minn. – The Bemidji State University softball team fell in both games to No. 20 Minnesota State University, Mankato Saturday afternoon in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play. The Beavers fell to the Mavericks 1-0 in game one and then 2-0 in game two.
Senior Kaidron McClafferty held the nationally ranked Mavericks to just three hits and one run in game one of the day on her way to pitch all six innings in the game. The Beavers were held hitless until the seventh inning when Ashley Herold and Aimee Christenson recorded the Beavers' lone hits in the game.
McClafferty fell to 3-10 on the season with the loss after one of her best outings of the season.
Bemidji State got another quality outing in game two when sophomore Stella Dolan held the Mavericks to just two runs off eight hits. However, the Beavers were only able to record two hits the game and were held scoreless for the second consecutive game.
Freshman Alexa Christenson and senior Elaina Christiansen were the only Beavers to record hits in the game.
Dolan falls to 4-13 on the season after pitching all six innings and earned four strikeouts.
Bemidji State will next play University of Mary Wednesday, April 20 with a doubleheader in Mary, N.D.
