Box Score 2 BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University softball team fell in both games of its doubleheader at Wayne State College Sunday afternoon in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play. The Beavers fell in game one 9-4 and the lost game two 6-4.
The Beavers fall to 10-30 on the season and are now 7-13 in NSIC play.
Bemidji State totaled nine hits in game one including two from freshman Mariah Stevenson, senior Elaina Christiansen and junior Emmarie Yeager. Four Beavers recorded an RBI in the game, Christiansen, Yeager, junior Ashley Herold and sophomore Molly Houts while Stevenson led the team with two runs scored.
Sophomore Stella Dolan earned the loss after pitching three innings and allowed five runs, two earned, off five hits. She was replaced in the fourth inning by sophomore Kyla Damerow who allowed four runs, three earned off five hits. Dolan falls to 5-14 on the season.
The Beavers totaled 10 hits in game two and led 3-2 after the third innings but the Wildcats rallied to earn the 6-4 victory. Herold led the Beavers by going 3-for-3 with an RBI. Yeager followed by going 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored.
Senior Kaidron McClafferty pitched all seven innings and allowed six runs, five earned, off 10 hits and earned four strikeouts.
Bemidji State will now travel to Sioux Falls, S.D., to take on No. 12 Augustana University tomorrow afternoon.
