ABERDEEN, S.D. (Fossum Field) -- Bemidji State University baseball fell in both of its mid-week games at Northern State University, 4-0 and 4-3, in Aberdeen, S.D. The Beavers held a late lead in game two before falling to 5-34 overall and 2-23 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

Game One – NSU, 4-0
The Wolves scored one run in each of the first and second innings before the Beavers notched their first hit in the third. Senior Parker Borg sent a double to right field and moved to third base with one out before being stranded.

Senior Tom Keohen and junior John Perkins added BSU's final two hits in the fifth and sixth innings. After a leadoff single and a walk in the bottom of the sixth inning, NSU scored its final runs on a two-RBI double.

Freshman Isaiah Biehn (0-4) threw 5.1 innings with two strikeouts, two walks, four runs and seven hits allowed.

Game Two – NSU, 4-3
The Beavers got the bats going in game two with 10 hits through nine innings. BSU left multiple runners stranded on base through four of the first five innings before eventually scoring the first run of the game in the sixth. Biehn reached base on a hit by pitch and advanced to second on a balk before freshman Hunter Daymond hit an RBI single up the middle.

BSU extended its lead in the eighth inning as Biehn reached base again by a walk. A single from senior Sam Kalberer advanced Biehn to third before a wild pitch allowed Biehn to score and extend the lead to 2-0.

Junior pitcher Jackson Back (1-2) threw 7.0 innings of scoreless work, allowing just three hits and stranding three runners, before Northern State scored in the eighth inning. The Wolves totaled three hits, including a two-RBI single to tie the game, and took the lead on an error and an RBI single to left field.

Junior James Wirt led off the ninth inning with a walk and advanced to third following a ground out and a passed ball. Sophomore Wyatt Hamann drove in Wirt to bring NSU's lead down to one, 4-3, as BSU left two runners stranded to end the game.

Hamann finished the game 3-of-5 from the plate with one RBI, Kalberer and Wirt totaled two hits each while Daymond drove in one run. Back threw 7.2 innings with five strikeouts, four hits and two walks allowed.
