Box Score 2 FAYETTE, Iowa – The Bemidji State University softball team lost both of its games against Upper Iowa University Saturday afternoon in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play. The Beavers fell in game one to the Peacocks by a score of 9-4 and then fell 6-0 in game two.
Bemidji State totaled eight hits in game one but allowed 14 hits to the Peacocks who earned a 9-4 victory. Freshmen Alexa and Aimee Christenson each paced the Beavers with two hits in the game while Aimee led BSU with a double, two RBI and two runs scored.
Sophomore Stella Dolan started the game and pitched three innings and allowed five runs (four earned) off nine hits to fall to 3-11 on the season. She was replaced in the fourth inning by redshirt sophomore Kyla Damerow who allowed four runs (one earned) off five hits and had four strikeouts.
The Beavers were held to five hits in game two while Upper Iowa totaled 11 to earn a 6-0 victory and sweep. Aimee Christenson, Mariah Stevenson, Elaina Christiansen, Molly Houts and Emmarie Yeager all recorded hits for the Beavers.
Senior Kaidron McClaffery pitched all seven innings in the circle and falls to 3-7 on the season after allowing six runs (four earned) off 11 hits and had two strikeouts.
Bemidji State falls to 7-21 on the season and are now 4-4 in conference play.
The Beavers will travel to Winona State University tomorrow for a doubleheader at Noon & 2 p.m.
