BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference's leading goal scorer in Jenny Vetter from No. 16 Minnesota State University, Mankato scored the game-tying goal in the 88
th minute to salvage a 1-1 tie with the Bemidji State University women's soccer team Friday afternoon at Chet Anderson Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, fifth-year senior
Sara Wendt scored her team-leading third goal of the season in the 54
th minute to put the Beavers ahead. BSU held that one-goal lead for most of the second half, but Vetter softly headed a bouncing ball over the reaching hands of goalkeeper
Alyssa Stumbaugh for the equalizing goal with just 1:28 left to play.

Minnesota State moves to 4-1-1 overall and 2-0-1 in conference play with the tie while the Beavers move to 3-1-2 and are tied with MSU, University of Mary and University of Minnesota Duluth for first in the NSIC with a 2-0-1 league record.

The Mavericks out-shot the Beavers 7-4 in shots on goal while BSU totaled 14 shots to 11 for the Mavericks. Stumbaugh finished the game with six saves while her counterpart, Mackenzie Rath made three.

Bemidji State concludes Homecoming weekend Sunday at 1:00 p.m., from Chet Anderson Stadium and hosts Concordia University-St. Paul.
