WINONA, Minn. – The No. 23 Bemidji State University Women's Soccer team improved its unbeaten match streak to nine games Sunday afternoon after rallying to defeat Winona State University 2-1 in more Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action.

After surrendering a goal in the 17
th minute, the Beavers (6-0-3, 4-0-1 NSIC) scored a pair of goals in the 28
th and 35
th minutes to jump in front of the Warriors (2-4-3, 1-3-2 NSIC).

BSU remains the lone undefeated team in the NSIC but sit second in the league standings with 13 points, one point behind Northern State University who has played one more match than the Beavers.

Winona State's Madisson Watts started the scoring in the match with her first goal of the season in the 17
th minute but BSU freshman
Madeline Davey responded 11 minutes later by scoring her third goal of the season off a corner kick.

Bemidji State then took the lead when sophomore
Sylve Waters beat a defender inside the box and used the left foot to score her first goal of the season just seven minutes later.

The Beavers bested the Warriors with four shots on goal compared to two while junior
Edie Frantzen made one save to improve to 6-0-3 in between the pipes for BSU.

Bemidji State now returns home and prepares to host Minnesota State University, Moorhead Friday at Chet Anderson Stadium and then Northern State Sunday.
