MANKATO, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Women's Soccer team fell 4-0 to No. 18 Minnesota State University, Mankato on the road Sunday afternoon in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play.

The Beavers fall to 8-3-6 on the season and are now 6-3-4 in conference play and sit sixth in the NSIC standings with 22 league points. The Beavers are one point back of home playoff positioning for the first round with just one match remaining in the regular season.

The Beavers and Mavericks (11-2-5, 9-1-4) were evenly matched everywhere except the scoreboard with the Beavers producing five shots on goal compared to six for MSU. However, MSU's Mackenzie Rath denied all five Beaver shots while the Mavericks converted on four of their six attempts.

Bemidji State will now need to win its final match of the season next Thursday and Augustana University and University of Mary to either lose or draw in their final matches to earn homefield advantage in the first round of the NSIC Soccer Tournament.

The Beavers close out the 2023 regular season at home and host University of Minnesota Duluth Thursday, Nov. 2 at 4 p.m. at Chet Anderson Stadium.
