BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – The Bemidji State University Men's Golf team currently sits in the top half of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preview tied for sixth out of 20 teams at the Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs, Mo. Freshman Rylin Petry and junior Jack Southard finished tied for 25th at the end of day one with a score of two-over.
Bemidji State is tied for sixth with University of Minnesota, Crookston and Fort Hays State University all at 301 (+13). University of Central Missouri finished day one at six-under par (282) and a commanding five-stroke lead over second place Rogers State University at 287 (-1). Daniel Robles Delval from RSU leads the pack at five-under 67 and is one of five golfers to record an eagle on day one. He holds a two-shot lead on the field.
Tying for the best spot for Bemidji State was Southard and Petry with a score of 74 to tie for 25th. Koby Kuenzel had the third-best score on the team at 76 and is tied for 37th and TJ Raden is one-stroke behind him at 77 to be tied at 50th. Ben Corbid rounds out the team finishing day one at 79.
The Beavers also sent five student-athletes to compete as a second team that currently is 17th with a 318. Caden Lick tied with Raden for the most birdies for BSU on the day with four to finish with a score of 76 and is tied for 37th. Tate Usher was one-stroke behind Lick at 77 and is tied for 50th. Logan Schoepp finished at 82 and Gus Vatnsdal and Alex Iverson were one-shot behind him at 83 to end the first day.
