BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Baseball team will make its final road trip of the 2023 season Tuesday, May 2 when it travels to Bismarck, N.D., for a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheader with University of Mary. The Beavers and Marauders will clash for two games at Bismarck Municipal Ballpark with game one slated to begin at 1:30 p.m.

The Marauders (19-26, 12-18 NSIC) enter the mid-week doubleheader 11
th in the NSIC standings and outside of the eight-team NSIC Baseball Tournament held in Bismarck, N.D. The Beavers (2-41, 1-27) are 15
th in the standings and are looking to snap a 22-game losing skid.

Mary is seventh in the NSIC with a team batting average of .300 while its pitching is 13
th with a team ERA of 7.78. The Marauders have won four of their last five games including taking two-of-three from Minot State University this past weekend on the road. Mary is led by junior Cal James who is batting .370 with a slugging percentage of .673 and on-base percentage of .495. In 162 at bats he has totaled 60 hits, 14 doubles, one triple, 11 home runs and has batted in 44 runs. Four Marauders are batting over .300 while three have hit 10 or more home runs.

Bemidji State is batting .231 as a team to rank 15
th in the league while its pitching staff has an ERA of 12.29 to also rank 15
th. The Beavers are led at the plate by junior
Jack Munson who is batting .313 with a slugging percentage of .558 and on-base percentage of .348. In 147 at bats, he has totaled 46 hits off nine doubles, three triples, seven home runs and has driven in 28 runs. He is tied for 10
th in the NSIC in triples (3).

Logan Barrick leads the Bemidji State pitching staff with 49.2 innings pitched and has posted a 1-3 record in nine appearances. He has compiled an ERA of 5.07 and has totaled 40 strikeouts to just 22 walks. He is followed by junior
Will Lavin who has pitched 40.2 innings in nine appearances. Lavin is 1-7 on the season with an ERA of 7.75 and paces the Beavers with 53 punchouts. His 11.73 strikeouts/nine innings ratio is the highest in program history.
