Lick and Corbid lead BSU with best rounds on day two at the NCAA Super Regional

After two rounds the Beavers sit in 20th

WINONA, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Men's Golf team finished its second round at the NCAA Super Regional at The Bridges Golf Club in Winona, Minn., Friday evening. Caden Lick and Ben Corbid finished four-over par to post the best score for BSU on day two.

After two rounds the Beavers sit in 20th shooting 604 (+36), as Bemidji State battled a tough rain throughout the second round. Grand Valley State University improved on its lead after finishing three-over par and hold a 16-stroke lead over Maryville University in second. The top-three individuals are all from Grand Valley State: Charles Delong (-6), Nick Krueger (-5) and Drew Coble (-4). 

Corbid now leads the Beavers at 147 (+5) after finishing four-over on the second round and is tied for 29th. Rylin Petry is right behind him overall at 148 (+6) finishing his second round at 78 (+7) to sit tied for 36th. After shooting nine-over on day one, Lick improved by five-strokes and finished the round at 75 (+4) to hold a two-day total of 155 (+13). Lick parred the first 11 holes on the day and finished the day with 16 pars. Logan Schoepp recorded his first birdie of the tournament on the fifth hole and finished the day with a 79 (+8). Schoepp is one-shot ahead of Lick with a 154 (+12). Rounding out the team is Jack Southard who shot 80 (+9) for the second day in a row for a two-day total of 160 (+18).

Petry, Schoepp and Lick are all tied for the team lead in pars with 25. Corbid leads the team with six birdies. As a team, Bemidji State is third in the field with 117 pars.

The Beavers conclude the NCAA Super Regional tomorrow (Saturday) at The Bridges Golf Club in Winona, Minn., with tee times starting at 7:30 a.m. BSU will be paired with Northeastern State and Missouri Southern State. Live results will be available and can be found here.
