BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Baseball team travels south to face Winona State University this week in Winona, Minn., to resume Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play. The Beavers will play four conference games spread through two doubleheaders against the Warriors beginning Thursday, March 21 and ending Friday.

The series starts with a doubleheader Thursday with a seven-inning game at 12 p.m., followed by a nine-inning game two. The Beavers close the weekend with a second doubleheader Friday again starting with a seven-inning game at 12 p.m.

Bemidji State (1-17, 0-8 NSIC) returns to NSIC action having last faced No. 23 Augustana University in Sioux Falls, S.D., in a four-game series March 8-10. The Beavers went 0-4 in the series with freshman
Beau Thoma leading the Beavers collecting four hits in the series batting .250 in 12 at bats.

Winona State (5-13, 2-6 NSIC) was in action this past weekend in Sioux Falls, S.D., going up against Northern State University and went 1-3 in its four-game series. Run support wasn't lacking for the Warriors as they brought in at least five runs in three of the four games but let up nine or more in each game.

Freshman
Matt Filippi paces the Beavers' at the palte batting .333 with an OPS of .939 after he has collected 18 hits in 54 at bats with two home runs, one triple, one double and has driven in six runs. Sophomore
Jackson Schaffer is batting .465 with an OPS of 1.140 and is tied for the team lead with eight RBI but has missed the last seven games due to injury.

Derek Hoffman leads the Beavers' pitching staff with 18 innings pitched and is 0-3 with an ERA of 13.00 and has struck out a team-high 15 batters. He is followed by freshman
Jacob Smith (0-4) with 17.1 innings pitched and sophomore Christan Lindow (0-3) with 12. 1 innings pitched.

The Beavers will look to snag their first conference win of the season against the Warriors before hosting Southwest Minnesota State University next weekend.
